1 week in

Well here it is January 7th and things are good!

 Started doing a 10 day cleanse and 14 day lean eating, Monday I am going to my coach training, and I have been doing jazzercise and walking videos at home.  I am feeling good, my Rheumatoid Arthritis doctor gave me a great checkup, my dentist put me back to 6 month checkups.  Life is really good!!

It "snowed" last night, told us 3 to 6, got a dusting and lots of ice!! So it is an indoor day!  Made a yummy onion, pepper, and spinach omlet for breakfast, will pop in the video in an hour, and I have knitting to do.  A nice calm day!

Almost time!!

Well we are getting towards the new year. 2 more days. Just got a running belt, will hold my phone and licence/money as I run/walk!  Very cool.  I should have gotten one with water bottles, but I will see how it goes.
Ugly weather today, but I have videos to do indoors.  I need to get moving, I am shaken to the core by the death of George Michael and Carrie Fisher.    I need to get healthy once and for all.

I will be doing the Advocare 24 day challenge to kick off the new year.  I got a physical and now I need to get my followup done.  I need to get to date on all my tests, especially my mammogram.  I have some aches and pains that I cannot explain.

Well short and sweet today, have to eat something and get to knitting.  Lots of projects!!

Christmas Thoughts

So here is another Christmas.  I just got over a week long bout of stomach flu and lost another 5 pounds.  Not what I like to do.  Have been asked what do I want for Christmas.  Now that is a good question.

It is true as you get older you need less.  I even want less.  I could use a lottery win, but Santa does not give that.  There is can new NES game system, a kitchen aid mixer, running togs for colder weather.  Health for my family.  The time to see my father again and my in laws.  An answer for my daughter's ADHD and how to cope.  Strength to deal with a teen age boy.  Not a long list but if any are answered, I will be happy.

I am also very thoughtful of my mom whom I last saw 5 years ago for New Years.   As we drove away in 2012, I knew that was the last time I would see her.  If I could speak with her again, that would be the best present.  But that will not happen until I see her in heaven.  On a back burner.

Well Monday I plan on starting my running/walking  adventure.  Walmart had some really nice work out clothes that I can afford.  I have some gift cards to spend and I will get more socks from the running store.  So I will gift myself with better health!! I will also give platelets to bless another.  I will write more Monday after my adventure. Getting ready to run in 2017!!

Well I am embarking on a new venture, I am going to be a coach for Girls on the run at my school.  I am hoping to get my daughter to join and we will run a 5k at the end of this.

 I am starting by reading and gathering my tools to do this.  Starting with reading, on the why and how so that I don't hurt myself.  I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and I need to protect my joints.

  First purchase was a pair of real running shoes.  It took 90 minutes, lots of try ons and the help of an awesome local running store, Big Peach Running in Suwanee, GA.  Kermit was the clerk and he truly made me feel like I have the best shoes for me!  Plus awesome feeling socks!  Next will be some running pants/tights for the cold weather and a jacket.  Will have to do some research on that.

 More reading.  There is an app, couch to 5k that I will download.  Coaches me when to walk and run, takes 13 weeks to get me 5k ready.  😆

As a coach I need to take the official training in January.  There is a curriculum, I mean the club is at school, but it is all done for us, or so I am told.  More reading.  😁

Don't have the start date yet so I plan on starting this walk/run training when winter break starts, December 22.  I hope the club starts in January.  Actually excited to do this, I have some weight to drop so this better help!!  I want to be 30 pounds down by my birthday in March.  Early March.  Gulp, I said that outloud didn't I?!?  Well it is out there, so make sure to ask me!!

Well back to my Sunday and reading.  And watching Diners, drive-ins and dives.  😇
